After months of being dusted with chemicals meant to cure, the human race has been tainted. In many ways, "Tainted" is a promising first novel. I think Bell's take on the whole zombie concept was interesting -- at least enough to keep me reading to the end. The story meanders a little at the beginning, but once the action starts it becomes a pretty decent page turner. I like how the author doesn't obsess over the zombie aspects of the story, but tries to use the situations created by their presence as a way to develop the relationships between characters. I think newbie writers sometimes rely too heavily on a "gimmick" to push the story forward. Fortunately, Bell steers clear of this, aiming instead to focus on practical plot elements rather than undead sensationalism. As for the writing style, some of the writing did read a bit disjointedly, particularly at the beginning. That being said, I anticipate in the future, as the author hones her writing style and refines her voice, her style itself will become more fluid. All-in-all a pretty good read.Product details

Brilliant debut novel. Captured my full attention from beginning to end. Jemma is a strong leading lady who has you amazed by her bravery and laughing out loud at her wit. Women of all ages will be rooting for her to win the affections of the love of her life, Gage. I never knew I was a zombie novel fan, but I can't wait to read book 2 of the trilogy and look forward to other works by this author.
This is a fun read, full of suspense, young love, and smart humor. The leading lady, Jemma, is brave and headstrong. You will find yourself cheering for her as she attempts to lead her friends to safety. The love story aspect of this novel really endears you to the characters. Who wouldn't want a boyfriend like Gage? It is more than your typical Zombie book. I look forward to the second book in the trilogy and I hope to see new works from this author.
This is a very unique zombie story.
The author has a vivid imagination and does a wonderful job helping the reader experience a broad span of emotions. Between the budding love story and suspenseful nail-biting scenes...my heart was pounding the whole time!
This book is perfect! The author does a spectacular job in character building. I've read it twice already. She did such a great job with putting emotion into the story. The book sends you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and scenarios. I couldn't stop reading. For those of you reading this, it's a must buy book!
I love zombie stories when the women are willing to fight back. This is a great book. I really cannot wait for the next one. I would recommend this to anyone that like zombie stories, with a little love and drama throne in.
